Light design – Mallorca
Light design

A comprehensive lighting design project in Mallorca, developing custom lighting plans that showcase the tone and meet the function of each space. Creating a lighting atmosphere that sets the right style.
In Mallorca, light changes the way a residence is experienced from day into evening. These lighting design boards explore the relationship between a villa and its outdoor spaces: coastal context, exterior stairs, terraces and pool become parts of a connected sequence.
Understanding the setting before adding light
The opening boards introduce the landscape and spatial references for the residence. They establish volumes, views and the relationship with the outdoors before attention turns to individual fittings. For luxury interior design in a Mediterranean villa, lighting also begins with understanding which surfaces enter the field of vision and how openings connect the house to the landscape as daylight fades.
Stairs and terraces: following movement
The exterior stairs section gathers references for steps, paths and terraces. Changes in level become a question of orientation as well as atmosphere. The images support a discussion about the position of light in relation to movement and materials. This approach seeks visual continuity between indoor life and the evening use of outdoor spaces, with a clear hierarchy between circulation routes and places to pause.
The pool and the evening landscape
The pool sequence brings water, planting and surrounding surfaces into focus. These boards collect studies and reference images to explore reflections, depth and contrast. They document the design process rather than presenting a photographic report of a completed installation. At this stage, lighting design makes intentions explicit and supports a conversation about the villa’s atmosphere before detailed technical decisions are made.
