Yacht interiors

Life on board comes first

A yacht interior accompanies different moments within the same space: welcoming guests, sharing dinner, reading at sea or finding privacy in a cabin. The project begins with the experience of the people on board and connects atmosphere, circulation, storage and furniture.

The commission can explore a new direction for the interiors or the renewal of existing spaces. Sketches and plans support spatial reasoning; models and renders make volumes, surfaces and light easier to read. In Mallorca, the conversation also considers available documentation and dialogue with the yard and appointed professionals.

The project behind the render.

From the first sketch to a neutral model and the final atmosphere. Explore representations of the same interior: each stage brings a different design question into focus.

The plan clarifies layout and circulation. The model supports discussion of proportions, furniture volumes and their relationships. Reading the views together makes it easier to compare alternatives before refining the details.

Drawing, modelling and discussion

A CAD drawing, a three-dimensional model and a rendered image serve different purposes. Drawings organise information, models explain volumes, and renders support conversations about materials and light. Exchange formats, views and the level of detail are defined around the commission and the professionals involved.

  • AutoCAD
  • Rhinoceros
  • SketchUp
  • Blender

The service focuses on interior design. Documentation is shared with the yard and the professionals responsible for naval, engineering and technical matters. CAD drawings and 3D models help discuss volumes and relationships within the roles established for the project.

Considered at every scale.

01

Spaces that work together

In the saloon, seating, tables and circulation affect one another. Layout is considered through practical situations: spending time together, passing through, reaching storage or moving between inside and outside. The model helps explore these relationships and identify where a volume could be lightened or reconsidered.

02

Storage and integrated furniture

The place given to everyday objects is part of interior quality. Furniture and storage can respond to the shape of the room while maintaining visual continuity. Proportions, access and details develop in dialogue with suppliers and the yard’s technical information, within the agreed scope.

03

Light, surfaces and sea views

Glazing, reflections and evening light change how an interior feels. The proposal considers relationships between textiles, surfaces, furniture and lighting. Working views support comparison of lighter and deeper palettes and the character that each choice brings to life on board.

04

New interiors and refit

A refit can begin with what deserves to remain: an arrangement, a piece of joinery or a material. Renewal does not require automatically replacing everything. For new interiors, the brief establishes priorities before the design language and dialogue with other disciplines develop.

Materials & light

A palette considered in its marine context

Textiles, timber, metals and finishes are discussed through their atmosphere and the information needed to select them. Samples and detail views support comparison. Use, maintenance and applicable requirements are checked with suppliers, the yard and competent specialists. Visual coherence develops alongside clear decisions.

A shared design journey.

A project develops through clear conversations and identifiable decisions. Each stage builds the information needed for the next, within a scope agreed together.

01

Listen and define the brief

Daily habits, priorities, references and available documents form the starting point. The first conversation separates what you want to achieve from an initial idea of how to achieve it: how you use the rooms, which relationships need attention and which elements deserve to stay.

02

Compare layouts

Plans and sketches open a discussion about positions, movement and proportions. Comparing alternatives reveals what changes when furniture moves, a sequence is adjusted or an area takes on a different role. This reasoning comes before the final image and helps establish a coherent direction.

03

Develop materials and details

The chosen direction is explored through models, renders, references and samples. Furniture, light, colour and surfaces are considered together. Decisions can also be compared with maintenance needs, availability and supplier information, according to the agreed level of development.

04

Present and coordinate

The presentation brings decisions into a readable sequence. Documents, revisions and outstanding questions can be shared with the appointed professionals and suppliers. The next activities, details to develop and responsibilities are clarified within the scope of the commission.

What the project develops.

The brief defines the selection of documents: the service can focus on a single room or develop a wider vision for the interiors.

  • Furnished plans and layout studies
  • Sketches, models and comparison views
  • Palettes, references and material selections
  • Furniture, lighting and bespoke detail directions

Before we begin.

Can we begin with an existing yacht?

Yes. Photographs, available plans and a description of the rooms help frame an initial interior refit discussion. We establish what should remain, the aims of the renewal and the information to develop with the yard before defining the commission.

Does the service include naval design?

The focus is interior design: concept, furniture arrangements, palettes, light and atmosphere. Naval design, engineering checks and technical requirements belong to the appointed specialists. Coordination and the documents to develop are clarified in the brief.

How does an interiors consultation begin?

Tell me about the yacht, its location and the spaces you would like to rethink. Images, plans and references help, alongside the priorities of those living on board. This first exchange can define an appropriate scope, from selected rooms to a broader interior direction.

Your project starts with a conversation.

Tell me about the place, the spaces you want to rethink and the atmosphere you imagine. We can define the first step together.
