Irene's house – Rome
Apartment - Interior Design

This project was about redesigning Irene's house interior in Rome. We worked on creating a warm, welcoming family space that combines modern functionality with classic Roman aesthetics.
A home in Rome, a family and three different ways of inhabiting the same space. Irene’s project boards trace a residential interior design process from room planning to everyday objects: a sociable living room, a restful main bedroom and a room designed around a young child’s independence.
Rooms shaped around family life
Reading the floor plan helps give different daily activities a recognisable place. Furniture positions and visual references appear together in the boards, connecting circulation, function and atmosphere. The living area introduces shared moments, while the bedrooms take a more personal direction. This work on spatial organisation creates continuity between rooms with different needs. It also makes the reasoning behind the furniture selection easier to understand, before considering the individual pieces.
Wood, colour and everyday comfort
Light wood, greens and warm accents give the living room a fresh, informal language. Seating, dining furniture, storage and decoration are considered together. The main bedroom moves towards a calmer palette of pale surfaces, neutral textiles and wooden details. The moodboards explain this change in intensity without losing the relationship between rooms. They show how a coherent home can accommodate different moods rather than repeating one decorative formula everywhere.
A child’s room at her own scale
The original boards explicitly introduce Montessori references for the child’s bedroom. Low furniture, a house-shaped bed and playful colours support the idea of a room accessible to its young inhabitant. Layout suggestions, furniture selections and decorative references are presented side by side. The gallery preserves these working documents, offering a view of the decisions behind the interior: plans, combinations and details, alongside the overall mood.
